I’ve spent nearly 30 years as an artist, while also building a long career in accounting and bookkeeping. Living in both worlds has given me a unique perspective on something many artists quietly struggle with: staying financially organized while protecting the time and energy needed to create.
I know how easy it is for receipts to pile up, artwork records to become scattered, or the business side of an art practice to feel like one more job competing with the work you really want to do.
That’s why I created Savvy Artist Ledger.
My goal is to share practical, approachable ways to help artists organize their finances, keep better records, manage their artwork and studio inventory, and make more confident decisions about the business side of their creative lives.
You don’t need to become an accountant to manage your art practice well. Sometimes, a simple system and a little consistency can make a remarkable difference.
